Hello again. Owing to a bout of personal illness our activities have had to take a back seat for the past two months however things are now back on track and most importantly Members contributions have continued to be received as usual and those funds have simply accumulated in the DA$AW bank account, so firstly a big thank you for your continued support. 100% of your contributions  always go to a deserving cause.

Because of the temporary suspension of activities our combined donations  have accumulated to a larger sum than usual and as result we have  been able to donate $250  to  – TheWheelchairs For Kids Foundation - http://wheelchairsforkids.org/about-us/history/a project of theRotary Club of Scarborough, WA where retiree volunteers use donations to make and distribute up to 300 wheelchairs per month to poor disabled children in developing countries. Millions of wheelchairs are needed, but every additional wheelchair makes a difference. Every $200 raised gives a child the freedom of mobility and liberates a carer.

In addition we have been able to make a small donation to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation - https://www.amf.org.au/who-we-are/our-story/.

On 28 April 1996 at the historical Port Arthur site in Tasmania, 35 people were tragically killed. Two small children, Alannah and Madeline Mikac, aged six and three, along with their mother, died that day. Because of this terrible act of violence, Alannah and Madeline's father, Walter Mikac, and a small group of volunteers who survived Port Arthur, worked hard to set up the Foundation, a national charity with the belief that all children should have a safe and happy childhood without being subjected to any form of violence.

Until next time Cheers and please encourage your friends, family & aquaintences to become Members - Just $1.00pw! It will MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Thank you
