FEBRUARY 2017

Dear Reader- Hello again,

Summer over & March already upon us!

FACTS OF THE MONTH:

(1) Girls schooling in Zimbabwe: Poverty, abuse and cultural practices are preventing a third of Zimbabwean girls from attending primary school and 67 percent from attending secondary school, denying them a basic education, according to a recent study which found alarming dropout rates for girls.

(2) Pancreatic Cancer: The 1-year survival rate of people with pancreatic cancer is 29%, and the 5-year survival rate is 7%. However, survival rates are based on many factors, including the specific stage of disease. Pancreatic cancer is often difficult to diagnose. But diagnosed early enough and it can be beaten.

Please note that 100% of all donations go to charity. No salaries, No paid marketing, no fun run or anything to do other than arrange a direct debit with your bank – Monthly or quarterly preferred. Just $1.00pw or $4.33pcm.  Still less than the cost of a cup of coffee/latte at many places! One-off donations also welcome where the amount donated will be extended to represent the number of weeks your donation equates too.

And finally before leaving you we need help with our Social Media/Marketing activities. If you or someone you know (maybe a keen young student) can help then we would love to hear from you/them. Sorry but it has to be on a voluntary basis.

Cheers and thank you again for your continued support.
